BabyDog is an amazing company. We have a rescue chihuahua mix who was fearful, shy, and had trouble walking on leash. We attended socialization classes (the shy puppy class at Royal Oak Bosley's), basic training, and intermediate training. We are truly raising a dog we can take anywhere! Aviva and Ruth personalize classes when needed and possible, and really engage with the dogs and their families. Our dog's needs were met and so were ours. I cannot recommend BabyDog highly enough! Their training classes are well worth the price, and their flexible drop-in model is fantastic. I could never thank Aviva and Ruth enough for how much they have helped us connect and learn with our dog :)
We’re so grateful to have found Aviva at BabyDog to help with our two-year-old rescue from Mexico. She went above and beyond to tailor her training to exactly what we needed. I took our puppy Yodel to the socialization classes for almost 4 months. I found it extremely helpful and I learned a lot about how puppies interact and what different body language signals mean. Avila is very knowledgeable about dog behaviours.
Me and River loved our meeting with Emma today. River is napping...as she does, but this nap looks extra good. We both learned lots and some things I didn't expect. I feel so reassured in developing a healthy relationship of River bitting her toys and all the alternatives Emma showed us and some I have already been doing like redirecting. In many ways I feel like I got more out of the training to support a healthy positive relationship with my puppy. I feel grateful to have started. And....everything is YES.... Emma trained me well!!!
It only took one lesson to see improvement in my dog. She has completely turned around in 4 lessons, and now we have the tools to keep growing on our own. The other dog owners in our neighborhood are constantly complimenting Beans on how far she’s come!
No one else does puppy socialization like Baby Dog. What does this mean? It means more staff on hand to curate the socializations, astute groupings of the dogs according to temperament (e.g. shy, boisterous), and ongoing commentary from staff describing dog behaviour in action (!). This last point is especially helpful to listen to, as you will begin to recognize the many signals/cues your puppies demonstrate for fear, aggression, modes of play, etc. Can't recommend Baby Dog highly enough. When we invite another puppy into our lives, we will return to Baby Dog. Note: to this day, when our dog sees Ruth and Aviva, she is so excited. They are some of her 'top' humans, as far as those she considers her 'pack'.
